You're not going to get a definitive answer. Here's what I use:
Mobil 1 Synthetic
K&N Gold Oil Filter.
For interesting reads:
One guy pitting Mobil 1 against Amsoil. Unofficial, but more real world to me.
Great site for info in oil and other things. Includes air filter tests.
Oil filter study. Deconstructing oil filters and comparing their innards.

truth be told most oils, just like gasoline, are made at one of maybe 3-5 rifineries. lots of companies share products so it doesnt matter. make sure the oil has the current and best ratings recommened for ur engine.
IMO, to have a true oil filter test one would need to have several oil filters from a set of changes (say 3 of the same filters in a row) and have the oil and filter media tested at an oil analysis lab. that should show which filters the best.

i will always use both motorcraft oils and filters, if ford puts there name on it, it must be good. plus its tri-syn & cheap.
