I have a 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 Automatic. I was wondering what would be the easiest way to swap this to a manual. Any info would be helpful

Easiest would be to sell the automatic Ranger and buy a manual trans Ranger, seriously

You need to swap the transmission of course and install the clutch pedal assembly and hydraulics
Swap out steering column to get rid of auto shifter, this is optional but..................will look real dumb, lol
get floor pate and boot with M5R1 transmission
Also the flywheel to replace flexplate
2001 4.0l SOHC should use the M5OD-R1HD manual trans, but can use any 4.0l M5R1, must be for 4.0l, other engine transmissions, even if M5R1 models, will not fit
Also 2WD or 4x4 matters, so it must match what you have now


Then the hard part, you will need to get a 2001 Ranger 4.0l manual trans Computer WITH matching PATS keys
If you can find a Ford computer programmer they may be able to reprogram your current computer and delete the automatic software

There is some wiring as well, for Neutral switch and Reverse lights
