trasmission swap
one things for sure, it's gonna be a lot of work......probably be best if u had a donor vehicle to pull everything u will need from it.....which will be quite a few things to say the least
Not an easy swap
Steering column and brake pedal assemblies need to be swapped.
The cut out is in the floor with a plate over it for the manual shifter
The mounting for the clutch reservoir and cutout for slave should be there
Need the rear drive shaft for manual trans I think, different lengths
Manual trans will need to be from 2001 and up to have correct Speed sensor on tailshaft
Steering column is optional but look pretty silly to have column shifter still in place, lol.
Yes, the engine computer for an automatic has different software inside, it ran the shift points, it will turn on CEL(check engine light) if not connected to an automatic transmission, which isn't all that bad, unless you have to pass emissions test.
It will also idle high and RPMs will wander a bit since CEL is on
You also won't know if there is an actual engine issue because CEL is on all the time, you will just have to check codes now and then to see if any other problems are being reported.
Yes, getting a manual trans computer would be best, or pay to have your computer changed to automatic
