1990 Big Block Ranger

So my Ranger took a MAJOR delay in the fabrication process, but I started again last week. Here's the progress:

The big block is bolted in with the front motor plate.
Mid plate is installed but not mounted... yet.
ZF transmission and NP205 installed.
Fuel cell cage almost installed.
Intake manifold machined and completed.
FRPP SCJ Heads prepped (Combustion chambers and exhaust runner polished)

I'll try to keep a running log of how things go.

Some quick specs on the truck:

1990 Ranger (Came stock with 2.9/auto 4wd)
1979 Bronco axles (4.09/4.11) with Detroit lockers
GM 1-ton TRE conversion
Custom track bar using Johnny Joints

Current ongoing mods:

F350 ZF transmission and NP205 transfer case
1977 Early Bronco axles (Tired of cops pulling me over)
1971 429 from a lincoln

The 429 is bored 0.060 over with custom Diamond Racing forged pistons
The intake is an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap converted to EFI
The throttle body is an NOS (holley) 1290CFM unit
The cam is from RHP performance and it's a Comp XR274H (solid roller) custom ground to work with SD efi.
The computer is an AEM 30-1401 for a 5.0L mustang
The rockers are Harland sharp designed for the SCJ heads
The heads are the new Kasse designed FRPP SCJ heads

That's all I can think of for now. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Bone stock with a 4bbl, the engine makes 390HP. The guys on 460ford.com estimate me closer to the 600HP mark. I used desktop dyno and plugged in all the info, including the flow rates of the heads and it came to 608HP. The program doesn't recognize EFI or roller cams though.

Sounds great.

1971 429 super cobra jet(scj) stock was 390HP, 460's were 365, then in '72 "the gas crisis", rating for both dropped down to 200Hp, lol.

Well I'll eventually get this thing on the dyno, but either way I'm sure 441cid in my Ranger will have some serious grin-power.:)

So the fuel cell is finally bolted in. I have a few minor touches to add to it yet though.

I need to figure out how to fill it. I have no intentions of cutting the bed of my truck. Might take some brain power. Other than that it's just the fuel and electrical hookups. Nothing to that. After it's all done I'll get it all powder coated.

Got my rebuilt & powdercoated 9" installed. Decided to add a magnetic drain plug while I was at it.
