It really is not THAT hard. just have the right resources, materials, patience, organization, and be able to follow directions some with pics and some without. lol. the most important thing. RESEARCH!!!!!

I am really hoping to have the hole engine put together by Saturday. I still need to get the upper intake bolts lol.

Also, I dont know how much of a Finalized write up I am going to be doing, since there is already a few. But with ALL of the pictures I have taken I will be creating an Album or Thread with all the Pics with descriptions of the build and swap.

Trans opinions. I have taken the time to clean and paint everything else I might as well complete the trans also... What color should I go with. Black or the "Aluminum" color

What are my options for a manual tranny? I read in another V8 swap thread that the only reliable option was an auto. Couldn't I do a custom order manual tranny? It's cost some pennies but could it be done reliably?

Chips in black paint over aluminum will be very obvious. My vote is for Duplicolor Ceramic Engine Paint DE 1650 "Cast Coat Aluminum". This paint looks a lot like new raw aluminum and it is very durable. I painted my intake manifolds and accessory brackets with it 3 years ago and they still look great.

I reused the factory A/C compressor from the original 2003 4.0L. 100% bolt on / plug & play.
AFAIK, the 5.0 Ex alternator is different from any Ranger - larger diameter, shorter case front to rear, different mounting bolt pattern.
