Put it in today
For Christmas I got a Sony HU and 1 set of Pioneer 6x8s. I put them in today and Im liking it. I wanted an HU with inputs for my Nano, which I now have, but I can play an MP3 CD ust as easy, so I will probably do that more. I put the 6x8s in the front door after some hesitation. I usually had a b!tch of a time getting door panels off other cars, but these were simple.
Now after Uncle Sam pays up in a few weeks Im going to put 2 more Pioneers in the back and somehow (looking for suggestions) put a 10" or 2 in back. The creative part is going to require me to make a box, that will also be functional as the rear jump seats.
Being "old" like me, I remember hearing that you needed a certain size box for subs, depending on the size of the sub. Is this still true, if so what size (cubic feet) does a 10" need? Does the design matter or is just the volume of the box important? Im thinking of making the box and having the sub face downwards, and then making up volume by having the backrest for the seat open inside. My rear doors dont open, and its just rugrats climbing in and out back there so if they get a little less space I dont care. They will love the sound and feel though.

Cool I see Crutchfield has them listed right with the subs. I will have to watch how the rugrats sit in back so I can plan accordingly, now Im thinking one near the center of the cab, with cupholders built into the top. Woodworking isnt a problem for me, I do it for a living, lots of throwaway MDF around for me too
