rocker switch help..

rocker switch help..

i want to be able to turn my amp off with a rocker switch. how can i do this? i have no idea how to wire the switch :/ its a 3 prong light up rocker switch

Well one prong should be ground, one feed from the dash lights... Probably get that from gauge cluster or dimmer switch to light the switch and third will be spliced into your amps remote wire to send the signal to the amp to turn on

can i just run a power wire from my battery?

No because the switch will stay lit all the time. Take out your radio and find the illumination feed and tap into that. That gives your switch power to light up, and last terminal for the amp remote line

Sorry I am wrong!!! One terminal will be ground, the other two will be for both sides of the remote wire for the amp. Power coming from the deck into the switch and out the switch on the other terminal. When the switch is turned on and the circuit is completed the switch should light up... Assuming it is illuminated

Ya lol I wasn't thinking of the remote wire as the power source. If you wire it like that it should work perfect
