Or should I say my wiring? I recently installed some 6x8 Pioneers in the back panels and every once in awhile all sound is completly lost on all speakers, but there is still bass coming through to the sub. I f I turn the car off and run in and out of the gas station, the sound is back. I think my problem maybe in my connections as I only had time to twist and wrap the connections in electrical tape. Would this cause me to lose sound periodically?

seems like you've got loose wiring since you say it'll sometimes kick in, then out...

on the back of the speakers, how many terminals are there? 2? 4?

 

i would just check the connections again...reseed them all....same thing happened to one of my rear speakers...and then check the connections behind your head unit as well and reseed those...

 

This same eact thing just happened to me after getting my pioneers installed. I took it into the shop and it turned out a wire was either grounded when it shouldn't have been, or a ground wire came loose. I can't remember.

 

Well, Im gonna go see what I can do. Im going to use some wire connectors this time instead of elec. tape. Thanks for the responses.

I dunno, he didn't tell us enough about the set up but what he is describing sounds like the effect of a bad ground. He can check how ever he connected the new speakers, where the wires connect to the cones, or if they are amped, check the amp's ground.

I appreciate the suggestion man, don't worry about. I redid the connections with some cable connectors and everything came on right away. Hopefully that was the problem because after going back in there to redo everything, I realized how hurried I was and how ****ty it was installed. Take your time and do it right the first time.

Thats what I was trying to get you to say LOL. You were pretty vague at first, like saying if a building fell, and a construction worker said "check the bolts" to find the problem haha.
