New Head Unit

I am trying to figure out if I can get a 2007 ranger radio to work in my 2000. I was looking at the dealership and some of the new Rangers have the auxiliary port for IPODS. I have the FM transmitter but it doesn't always sound the best. Thanks

You could always buy an aftermarket headunit that has ipod controls. Then you need to buy an ipod cable for it and you'll be able to control your ipod from the headunit. Might be cheaper depending on where your getting an 07 Ranger stereo from. They can be pricey from the dealership.

yea...a hole HELL of a lot cheaper!!! Ford probably wants $500 for just the headunit. Just get a alpine, or the like for $200, that already has an ipod jack. Or, If theres a guy selling a '07 headunit for cheap, get it!

Im not real urgent to get anything but if I come across a 2007 head unit I just wanted to make sure it would fit and plug in. I know I'd have to route the auxiliary wire for it but thats ok.

If I remember right the wiring is different as well. Nothing that you can't work around, but just one more thing to consider.
