Alright, I have a buzzin in my speakers, it gets louder with acceleration. I just hooked my speakers up to my amp, which also powers my sub.

The grounds are good, the speaker wires and rca's are on the other side of the truck from the power. I got a noise suppressor but it doesn;t do much. I am about to run separate speaker wires for each speaker, but both pairs will come together b/c I have a 4ch and the other 2 channels are bridged for the sub.

What can I do to get rid of the noise? What else can I check or change.

 

where do you have the power cable running?

 

Down the right side, under the door sill, under the carpet and coming up next to the amp. The speaker wire and rca's go down the left and come out from behind the back wall.

 

How is the amp laying, are the input wires touching each other at all? Move them around and see if it helps, there may be some interference moving that way.
Do you have good shielded rca's and are they away from power/ground sources?
It's pretty unlikely but the speaker wires might be messing with the rca's if they're ran together through the truck.

 

i had that exact problem... is it coming from particular speakers or all speakers?

my problem turned out to be that the speaker making the noise was *kinda* grounding out somewhere along the wire. (when it happened to me, only 1 speaker was affected)

 

It appears to be all speakers. I need to redo the speaker wires , how they are connected from the amp to the wiring harness. If I could fit wiring loom, I would, just to shield the wires, I think I need better RCA's, the speaker one's are kinda tiny.

 

i was gonna say.. do your RCAs run along side anythign else.. even though they're opposite the power for the amp, they can still sometimes pick up noise from factory wiring, etc..

i had the same problem with my speakers when they were amped....there's something touching or too close somewhere along the way...

invest in some better RCA's, or maybe it's just picking up alternator noise...

for a ghetto, yet DIFFERENT way, i was told to wrap aluminum foil around the power wire from the battery to the firewall...and it would cut out some noise...i never tried it, i un-amped my speakers instead

Umm ok, then how do I fix ground loop?

Why would I want to unbridge the sub, then that means less power to the sub.

 

are you using your factory harness for the sound coming into out of your speakers?

When i had my speakers amped, they totally cut the speaker wires from the factory wiring harness and ran new wires to my amp...so i use the RCA's for the front and rear speakers and i have my sub all in a 4 channel amp bridged like yours into the Excelon deck...you may just want do yours like mine and run new wires into the amp and just totally by-pass the factory wireing harness for your speaker sound...i havent had that type of problem yet

 

By bridging the sub, you are working the amp harder, and distorting the sound. What amp do you have running the sub and what sub do you have?

From your original post, you have a 4 channel amp.

You are running BOTH the speakers (all 4) and the sub on it?

If so, take the 4 channel amp and run just your speakers off of it.

Go and buy a seperate amp for the sub, one with enough power per channel to run the sub. I suggest kicker, as they dont start to distort with more gain.

From the start, what head unit, brand of RCA's, amp, speakers, and sub are you running?

 

Amp: RF 400a4
Sub: 10" Kicker Comp VR
Speakers: Pioneer 6x8's
Headunit: Premier 470MP
RCA's: Scosche and RF

Yes I am running all of it off the one amp. If i had the funds, I'd go buy another amp, Kicker amps are a lil much for my taste. I'd like one, but not to power one sub.

PRoblem I see if I get another amp, is that I only have 2 preouts off the headunit. Would I be able to just put a splitter for the speaker RCA's at the amp for front and rear.

 

If it were my truck, and I didnt want to spend a lot of money, I would run all of the speakers off of the head unit, sell the fosgate and get a good mono or 2 channel amp to run the sub.

If you had some cash to put into it, sell the Premier on ebay, and get a nice Pioneer with three sets of pre outs. Then I would run my speakers off of the Fosgate amp. (Are all speakers matched?) Then the CVR likes 300 watts, you could possibly get away with the KX200.2 but I wouldn't, too likely to square wave with it. The 250x2 will probably work great.

I know you said you didnt want to spend the cash on kicker, but they really are good bang for the buck.

You could run a splitter or find a quality 5 channel amp (4 speakers and a sub), most will work on one set of pre outs.
