Personally I like Alpine's stuff, I have a 12" type R Sub and 4 Alpine type R speakers to go in the doors and rear side panels. For Metal, the 10" Type R might suit you better, a friend of mine has it and it seems to "recoil"? faster... not sure if that's the word but it seems like the 10" is made for fast and constant beats where as my 12 handles the long and deep bass tones much better.
it's all in preference man, good luck!

I went with Pioneer Premier 6x8 Speakers and they are pretty much the best speaker I have ever hear. I turned up the frequency at which the speakers stop to 125hz and i can turn them all the way up with minimal distortion. And Generally smaller subs can hit faster and sound about right with rock music. 12's are ok and 15's your just lookin to annoy the next town with your crappy rappy music.

I don't have any Infinity stuff but I hear they are pretty good.
Heres the Pioneers I love
Pioneer Premier TS-D802P 6"x8" 2-way speakers at Crutchfield Signature
They are 6x8 speakers which is the factory size for your truck I believe, and they are only single tweeter so it doesn't get the bad distortion and annoyingly high pitched sounds as other speakers with like 3 tweeters. I would almost go as far as to say they are better then Component speakers.

I've got pure alpine in my truck, well except for the sub.. alpine doesn't make a sub small enough to fit a regular cab. I've got 5x7s type-r components in the doors, 5X7s type r behind my seat, and a 10" Kicker CVT, For my sub. I went for quality this time around, it's super clean and clear, not to mention loud. The CVT is great for metal/ and it'll pound if I do wanna crank it up to rap. (it's a rarity tho).

If your looking into the Infinity's crutchfield had some nice deals last week, don't know how long they are though, just picked up a set and still waiting on ups for today's delivery... Have a set of the component kappa's in the jeep and they are the reason I picked up another set for the truck.

nobody likes mtx?? ive got a full mtx system. speakers all round, and a 10" thunder series woofer powered by a 3001 thunder series amp. offers excellent bass and sound quality for all genres of music. at high volume it can be almost too loud depending on how youve tuned the system. i love my setup.
