What is the factory antenna lead routing on a ’98?
Once again re-doing the former owner’s shoddy work.
This time I took out the hack job aftermarket head unit and I’m putting in a nice Ford unit. The problem now is for some reason he removed the original antenna and lead and just left the open hole. So I’m trying to figure out where the antenna lead is routed. If I knew where it came thru behind the dash maybe I can fish it thru.
There is an antenna on the roof for a CB or two-way radio (the truck was some kind of service vehicle) and the cut off end of that coaxial antenna lead was crammed into and taped to the antenna jack on the Pioneer head unit he had HACKED into the dash.
So I guess if all else fails I could solder a jack on this and use it, maybe it will pull in a few strong stations. But I would much rather have the correct antenna in the original position.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
