Is it the tranny or adjustment
Last weekend I picked up a 93 ranger 4x4 5 speed and noticed on the way home that the throwout bearing was riding on the cluthc the entire way home and is spinning and making a spinning noise. The clutch seams to be engaging and working fine, but 4th gear pops out real hard and fast when I shift to it. It revs up to where is should be and then pops out fast. Is a new clutch neded at this point or am I having 2 different issues here?
It is a hydrolic clutch and has no fork lever at all, just a line in and a slave.
thanks

ya you can hear it from time to time...but your shouldn't. Should be loud in neutral......if it starts making too much noise, it's time for a new throwout bearing/slave combo. My bearing is pretty loud, and it only has 10k on it! lol. The ranger ones are plastic....so they don't rattle like old school rigs.....makes it a little hard to gauge when they are dead. Usually the slave fails FAR before the throwout fails.

It feels like he clutch is working ok, but as far as the syncro goes I guess i would have to pull the tranny anyway to get to it. I might as well replace the clutch while I'm at it.
Thanks
