tool box electronic locks

so i have a delta tool box, i was wondering if there is a way that i can hook it up to my car alarm to unlock via the remote. the alarm has the out put for it, but is there a way to hook an actuator up to it.

why not put a momentary switch on it, so when the box is closed, it will close the contactor, then when it is opened and the alarm is armed, it will open the contactor like the door pin switch and set the alarm off....

not what i am looking for, i know about hooking it into the alarm so that it will go off if opened. i am looking for a way that i can unlock it with the remote.

ahhhh....i miss understood.....i would say then it would take some sort of soleinoid or something...

I have a matching pair of door lock actuators from my Explorer for sale. They are compact, and could be used in a "custom" application like this.

The actuator moves in and out, so it would have to insert a pin into a hole in the lid, or otherwise push a mechanism into a "latch" on the lid.

that is what i was thinking, pm me a price. also i wonder if there is a way to install a fail safe, ie a wire that will manually pull the actuator back if it some how burns out.
