I searched high and low for a toolbox to fit my flareside before I bought my tonneau. After all the searching I just got a Rubbermade tub with lid and attached with bungees at the back of the bed. There a ton of sizes that are low enough to fit under the cover. It's not pretty but it's under the cover so I don't care. There is plenty of room I have a ton of tools and crap in there and still have room. It was like 5 bucks verses the couple of hundred I was looking at for a "real" tool box. Wal Mart also has those black plastic tool box looking trunks in the auto department that should fit under the tonneau it is like $15-18. But I figured I would get a better size for less money since neither would be metal and store my tools safely.

I got a black plastic tool chest at MallWart for $18.98 and I hold it against the front of the bed with two bungee cords. Not the prettiest, but it works great.

You should try to get some type of brackets that'll make it more stable. Something that could bolt to each side of the bed and also bolt to the toolbox.

Just my two cents.....I am looking for a toolbox soon too. Great post idea.

I have a tool chest that is bolted to the bed but is just a little bit below the top of the bedsides so your cover should still fit fine. Its made by deezee and I bought it at 4wp, my buddy actually has the exact same box in his toyota which is where I got the idea. I dont remember how much it was cuase iv had it fora while but I think around $150.
