Icon4 ideas on reair for deeply keyed hood

hello everyone I have a 2000 mazda b2500 that i very recently bought. It is in very good shape,no mechanical issues(knocks on wood), just a few dings. The major issue is the previous owner sold the truck during a divorce. There is a very noticeable 1square foot area that has f**k you carved into it just above the drivers headlight. Any advice would be greatly apreciated just please try and keep it cheap.

Is it through the base and clear coat? If it is, you'll have to sand it down in the spot, prime it, then paint it, you could either get a perfect match paint or get something close in rustoleum. Repainting the whole hood would look the best by far though

we used the duplicolor scratch repair already to keep it from rusting but it still looks nasty because of how wide they are. Im not that great at painting do you know how mutch it would cost a shop to do it.

A dealership is going to bend you over with it. This could also be an opportunity to two tone the hood with black or something that way you don't have to perfectly match. Painting is easy, sand smooth, prime, scuff, spray, clear coat

And if you absolutely have to have a shop do it, but you're short on cash, two-tone it with plasti dip until you can get it painted. Painting is pretty easy though as long as you have a good place to do it.

Check out the Duplicolor color match system. its about $40 to do a piece that size. I just did a roll pan that turned out well and I'm no body man by any means but they make it pretty easy. Just check out their video and take your time. Also i painted it in my garage because of dust and stuff outside just leave the garage door cracked.

I did not find out until i got home with it and began to check the air pressure in the spare. i noticed there was electrical tape on it so i pulled it off and found it. I thought my diff seal was leaking a bit, it turns out it was brake fluid. the front brakes do most of the stopping anyway so it didn't feel any different

WOW, good thing that you found it when you did. Guess the dealer didn't do that good of a check out prior to selling.
