how do i take my tailgate off

lol i must be dumb but its kinda confusing.

but 1 question
if i take it off will there be any difference

open.. hold it halfway open. unlatch the straps at the bed (lift those tangs up and slide out) then at a 45deg angle pull out on the passanger side. then slide the whole tail gate to the passenger side

im taking it off cause i just got that james duff rear bumper and everytime i put my tailgate down it hits into my bumper and i like the back of my truck haha i was thinking about getting a tire carrier tailgate
