Problem is the room a turbo requires, and the limits in room under a Rangers hood.
V8 itself can be made to fit, but extremely tight squeeze, width wise
Twin turbo V8 requires more width.
Super chargers add to the height which can be accommodated with a body lift as required, or a hole in the hood, which I think looks cool, lol.
Turbo chargers are more power economical than super chargers, because they use "scavenged" power from exhaust flow to build boost, super chargers use engine power to build boost.
Turbo chargers also have a higher boost limit than super chargers.
BUT.................unless you are building the engine from scratch for high boost/high horse power, the limiting boost psi is the engine itself, not the turbo or super charger.
Cost for turbo or super charger parts are about the same, installation of turbo charger is alot more.
Manufacturers are building from scratch so tend to use turbo chargers because they use scavenged power.

I would just do a single turbo. it would be a lot easier than twins on the intake side of the turbo. I did a single blow thru on my mustang. I got the headers from cartech and had the exhaust shop do all the piping. here is a picture when I was doing it. I was going thru the carburetor I just had to have a boost fuel pressure reg.

space won't be a problem, all factory stuff under the hood will be gone, delete the a/c, battery to the bed, aftermarket wiring harness, it's a 91 2wd 3.0 5 spd, going to go with a 5.0 carb'd, 5spd out of a 99-04 f150, 87-93 mustang turbo headers, will most likley do a custom ifs/rack and pinion setup, explorer 8.8 swap. should make a fun little truck.
