4X4 problem

My tcase will not engage into 4x4. When i start the truck both 4x4 and 4lo lights come on and go off. When i hit the switch to 4hi it does nothing, no clicking of the module or light. If i turn it to 4lo, the light goes on there is ac couple clicks, but it never engages. If i try to turn the switch back to 2wd, there is no clicking and the 4lo light will stay on. Ive tried 2 shift motors with the same results. Could it be the switch? The module is a year old.

Could be the switch, possibly the module. I'd use a voltmeter to check the wires. I had the same problem only I had no lights coming on or off. My module was bad.

Don't forget to check your fuses

I just went thru this a couple days ago. I thought it was the shift motor so I swapped it out...no change. After some reading I found that if the fuse blows this can happen..I didn't have any blown fuses. I pulled the radio bezel out and unplugged the switch, then plugged it back in and now it works...go figure...lol

Check your switch first! a lot of people run into this problem and it can end up being the switch which is cheap at a junkyard or on here. i have an extra switch somewhere i just need to find it lol

my electronic switch crap did the same thing, you can hit the button 100 times and it still wont engage.. then my slave cylinder went, and dad and i didnt have the time to change it so we took it to a shop and got it replaced and my 4x4 and 4low button started working again... it was weird. havent had a problem with it since.

sounds like the switch is gone.. oh ya i hate the electronic crap too.. its a pain in the **** sometimes especially when you need it and it doesnt work.. so your sitting there for a few minutes mashing the button.
