Is this bad?

Is it bad to have the truck in just D not overdrive?? i have an auto and i have the OD D 2 1 and i really think that if i have it in D it has more pep?? due to a lower gear. But i dont know if its bad to do that or not.. anyone with some input on this??

Use the "D" selection for towing only; for optimal fuel economy and less wear on the tranny using the "OD" selection is highly recommended.

X 1 on this one
only time the truck should be in D is when towing or if you have a very heavy load, for normal driving use OD
I think there has been many many threads on this, you may want to do a search and you might find more info on this as well

what tranny do you have... the only auto i have owned was in my B2 and it was the pos A4LD and i kept it in D unless it was on the highway since it would shift too much... my dad still does the same thing in his crown vic

for drivimg around town it won't hurt your tranny but it is for towing and will hurt fuel mileage. od is overdrive and is the fuel saver gear. i wouldn't recomend using it alot but if you do use it.. don't use it going highway speeds. it not made for that with no load

Drive it in OD.

Not to offend you, but did you just get your license?

I ask that cuz I see 17 in your username.

There is some truth to this statement however if you are getting bigger tires you should get some new gears.
