And your point...something breaks, it gets upgraded. It wasn't strong enough to begin with. Fuel system not up to snuff, just get one out of a wrecked 05, I have already seen a couple on wreckers up here. PCM need a tune, there are plenty of performance shops that will be more than happy for me to spend my money there. Fuel tank can't handle the Ethanol, Put a 3.0 tank in it, pumps can't take it, put aftermarket on it. I need a new pump anyway for a bigger shot of nitrous.

wow. total idiot. Ya know, this reminds of when I worked at a shop on Corona and we had a new guy come in. I sent him to the gas station to fill up the shop truck. He calls 10 minutes later and says the truck is smoking black and crapped out halfway back.
ME: Did you put gasoline in it?
HIM: NO! I'm not stupid enough to put gas in a diesel truck!
ME: But your stupid enough to put diesel in a gas truck!
It was an early 90's 454 Chevy... Difference here is, this guy didn't knowingly run the wrong fuel, he was ignorant to the fact... Terry on the other hand is a complete fool. He is KNOWINGLY destroying his fuel system. Better put them NASCAR decals back on, cause your truck is a few tanks away from being nothing more than a static billboard...

If he want to blow up his engine and destroy every component from the fuel tank forward and pay for all the replacement parts, that's his perogative. We'll never know the true purpose since it certainly isn't saving money, but whatever. It's obvious he knows the ramifications and knows he'll have to burn money out the tailpipe.

WOW is all I can say, you will see a post soon as my truck wont start or it stalled in the middle of nowhere. The Sport Tracs with the flex fuel can run both gasoline and E85, they are capable of running E85 it is not the only thing. If you dont care about money then throw some out to everyone on the forum.

You guys sure do like to bust each others ***** over who is right or wrong but the dump *** that doesn't read there truck specs. is the one that will be dishing the money out in the end and everyone else will be saying I told ya so.

I have a question for the FFV guys, what are your gas tanks made of? Mine's plastic, looks to be a glass reinforced nylon or neopreyne(sp). I doubt the FFV ranger has a steel tank but I could be wrong. :)
E85 has its emotional benefits. I would love to tell Middle East to go bleep yourself but my truck isn't a FFV so I do the next best thing and only buy gas from companies that have been documented that they don't buy Oil from the Middle East. This list is smaller than reported on some websites because they are wrong. Some listed on their sites as don't import do import.
They are: Company (Stations)
Citgo (Citgo)<-Mostly Venezula and my favorite anti-Bush president :)
Kock Petrol Group (Holiday)
Murphy Oil (Wal Mart)
Conoco (Same)
TESORO HAWAII CORP, TESORA PETRO CORP (Tesora )
US OIL & REFG CO (Independent Gas Stations in the Pacific Northwest)
Sunoco (same)
Sinclair (same)
Hess (same)

No, he's just young, lol. You know how it is: you think you're invincible and there is no such thing as "long term damage", lol -- that's for the other guy.
The E85 would do it's dirty work long term, not in the short term.
But you have to wonder: the necessary ratio's to run E85 require bigger injectors and a program in the PCM which can handle it. For instance, instead of the normal injectors in a 3.0 (rated, what? 17 pounds?...don't remember) the flex fuel 3.0 has 25 pound injectors.
So, one has to wonder if Ford selected "economy of scale" and is using the injectors and PCM algorithms in ALL 4.0 SOHV. If they didn't, I would have expected him to have pinging and all sorts of problems at WOT -- but it doesn't sound like he did.
That leaves open the question of fuel system materials and whether they tolerate high-strength E85 or not. That's where the concern appears to be. He seems to have already proven the engine accomodates it because if it didn't, it would have been running way off it's cals and throwing codes -- or at least that's the way I see it.

I'm ffv so it doesn't really matter to me but right now it seems like he's doing an fine job running it. None of the things that should've been going wrong are.

I have stopped running it for the meantime. It is more expensive for e85 than 87 now...
But as stated in another topic, I have inspected all lines, pump and filter and have found no deterioration (sp?) of any of the components. I even pulled the injectors and flow tested them and they were fine and the spray patterns were perfect.

And I see -- "experience" means nothing? What counts is ignorance? Ha ha! That explains a good deal of your posting!
And I do know more than you, so there!
