Splash?

Is there any way to tell if a ranger is a splash besides the decals? Mine has the splash wheels, step-side bed, and color matched bumpers like the splash...

Does it not have splash decals? Post pics. Was it repainted at all? I'm not sure if a vin decoder would be able to tell you.

Does it have the flag type mirrors? I had a '97 Flareside with chrome wheels, painted bumpers, etc like you and it was apparently a "Rebel" package but I don't know if that was just Canada or not.

I think all the Splash trucks came with carpet, bucket seats w/ console, etc.

93-6 were id'd by color match grill, bumpers and mirrors. late 96 and 97 you could get an xlt with the stepside bed, without the splash package.

so if you have a 94 with color match parts, and a stepside, it's a splash.

not all came with buckets. my 95 splash had a 60/40. power mirrors were the only option it had. no cruise, no tilt, no pw/pl, no a/c.

It is a 96 with all color matched body parts. no splash decals though. If it was painted it was painted original color which is black. 60/40 seats no tilt wheel. Has flag mirrors. I'll get some pics in the morning.

Edit: It does seem lower in the front than my 94xlt and i heard splashes were 1 inch lower in the front?

what does the emblem on the fender say? if it is a true splash, it should only say "ranger" the flag mirrors throws up a red flag to me. splash's should have a color matched mirror.

Here's the pics. So i guess it's not a splash with flag mirrors and xlt badge.

I'd say no... doesn't look like a Splash to me.

Stolen from TRS

Midway through the 1993 model year -- in which it was redesigned -- Ranger added a sporty Splash model to its lineup that included a Flareside bed and special trim. At first offered only as a regular cab, an extended-cab version (shown here) was added for 1994. Ford-owned Mazda now sold its own version of the Ranger as the B-Series, but it didn't offer a Flareside bed.

mine had front and rear sway bars. but they didn't get the flag mirrors, and the badge should just say ranger. 96-7 you could get an xlt with the stepside bed/color matched parts.

i bought a 97 ext cab stepside that had color matched everything, but was an xlt.
