More on the old "Door Ajar" thing
Help me out here a bit guys, I've been chasing this since I bought the truck a month ago. 2008 extended cab, the same old thing where hitting a bump will turn the door ajar light and dome light either on or off, depending on which state it's in when the bump hits. I've tried the whole WD40 thing, no change at all. I was playing around with it today, and noticed that if the truck is off, keys in the ignition, if I open the door, the chime goes off because the keys are in. Chime turns off when I close the door, but if I start the truck, the door ajar light is on. Is there a different set of switches for the key in ignition chime? Or does this tell me that I should be looking for a wiring issue, and not at the switches? Issue seems to only be with the drivers doors, passenger side seems to work just fine.
Should mention that switches in both drivers side doors have been replaced already, didn't change anything.

If the key is on and engine running then there would be no "don't forget the keys" chiming.
Its the same switch, it may need to be replaced.
yes, Drivers door gets used the most so would wear out faster.
You can check the wires at the boot on drivers door hinge but I would think it is the switch itself that is the problem, not wiring.
