Ive been having problems with my gas tank leaking if i fill it more than half full. I always hear about how the filler neck is usually the problem so i decided to go ahead and replace that. Got the truck back from the shop yesterday and it still has the same problem. I was told to replace the fuel pump seal but i am not sure if that would be it and dont want to buy another part i dont need. Would the fuel pump be leaking if i filled it up halfway or could it be a crack in the tank?

 

sounds like a crack in the tank because the fuel pump seal is on the very top of the tank, unless you are driving around and it is splashing enough to make it out of the top seal?
or your fuel gage is off and it says empty when your half full then it maybe over flowing out of the seal beacuse its full when you think its half full?

 

It leaks out when im out a stop too so i guess its a crack in the tank.

 

check your fuel lines turn the key on but do not crank the engine and see if its leaking out

i am having the other issue and figure when i pull the bed ill replace the pump too just because
