Would it be a waste to...

(hope I put this in the right section)
First off I would just like to say that if this happens it wont be for a loooooong time.
I have been debating which direction I would like to take my truck in (offroad or street). I would really like to add more power and speed to my truck and make it more "street" but I would also like to get some nice AT tires and crank the tbars a bit so that I could actually take it off the pavement.
I was wondering would it be worth it if I was to get a supercharger and some 31 BFG AT with a Tbar crank. Im just wondering if spending all that money on the whipple and tires would be worth it in the long run. Kinda get the best of both worlds so to speak?
I hope this makes sense, as you all know Im still learning. I was just wondering because I have seen serveral ppl who say it would be kinda useless to get a whipple while having bigger tires.
Would it really matter since they are only 31s? And Im not totally sure about the size of the tires, but that would probably be the size I would go with. As of right now I dont see a lift as an option because of the way I drive. I tend to take corners rather fast (and drive fast all together) and I know adding a lift adds to the chances of rolling.
Thanx for the input/info in advance

I don't think it would be a waste at all. Many offroad trucks use superchargers, so that they can kick *** on (or off) the street. :)
I like the direction you've taken so far. Obviously, my truck is strictly street, but I do know that my next truck will be lifted. It takes a lot more work to make a truck perform well on the street than it does offroad. By saying that, I mean the trucks are already designed for off-road ventures.
If you're really worried about losing power with the big tires, just upgrade the gears.

I know it is a Toyota, but the principle is still the same, supercharged, gears, pushing 35's with a 3.4liter. There is even a video of it racing practicly the same truck...

Motorcycle fairing..
im not too sure bailey...street trucks looks great but in my opinion trucks arent made for that. Im not bashing anyone because i love all the trucks here but i think you should just get some bigger tires and crank the t-bars...maybe get the whipple later because i dont think you would need it all that much unless you want more power..:D

Only if you want to take your truck to the bleedingest edge of street performance would be cause to worry about larger tires affecting performance out of a whipple. Sure you may not be getting the same performance as other whippled rangers on smaller tires, but we're talking small fractions, you'd still have a truck much faster than stock. Just watch out for the transmission and drivetrain. Larger rotating mass, and more power going to them, the middle/weakest link could give!

When offroading.. there CAN be an issue with excessive power. You REALLY DO NOT want to spin your tires over every obstical.. rather have then grab and propell you over with Torque.
Torque ( as most math majors ) can be replicated and multipled.
I'd rather a truck with 100HP and 250lbft of torque then a truck with 100lbfeet of torque and 250hp.. In a drag.. I'd stop them every time.
Tire size plays a DIRECT factor in Torque applied to the object its presented with.. be it flatland, mud or asphault . So do gears.

Ah, I see someone else is thinking with me.... :D
Bailey, I will say this much. While it is harder to make a truck perform better on pavement versus offroad, the rewards are pretty sweet too. Because of my nice wide Pirellis, moderate drop, locker, nitro shocks, etc., I'm now able to hang with stock Mustangs through some VERY mean curves. The look on their faces is priceless. Of course, when the road straightens out, they whoop my **** :D.
On the other hand, don't try to make a competitive offroad vehicle and then try to fly through curves when the "street bug" bites you. Whichever route you take, pick a path, and stay loyal to it. The "compromise" between street/offroad that you are referencing is known as a stock vehicle . Engineers design these things to be "good" in both arenas, but to make it "excellent" in one or the other is up to you.
If you decide to go street, give me a holler (PM) and I'll give you some hard lessons I've learned, plus some pointers to save you time/money.
Later!

John i can get my truck to handle in the corners also!!! :D
if you want a lifted truck to handle then get fabtech spindles, Bridgestone Dueler Revo's, and make sure you have a lot of tire on the ground. ask toughford, he couldn't believe how well my truck corners.
granted i would NEVER be able to keep up with John, but i am just saying that i can drive mine as hard as i want and i don't even get worried.
John, let's race so that i can get my butt beat!!! LOL

My truck DOES NOT like anything other than pavement. Doesn't matter if it's gravel, mud, dirt, (fill in the blank, basically, lol).
These Pirellis are AWESOME on pavement, wet or dry. Once I get off the road, though, I might as well be using slicks, covered in oil.
Here's a picture of the tire in question:
