2000 ranger 4x4-no bright lights

all lights work except when i push the lever down for the bright lights, both go out and everything else works. i have checked the fuses in the left side dash and the relays under the hood seam to be ok. i don't have a manual so i don't know what fuse or relay works the bright lights. could the dimmer switch be bad? thanks for any help. Lamar

Fuse 33 in the dash box protects the brights. The headlights are not controlled by relays. Yes, the hi/lo switch in the Multifunction Switch could be bad.
