Intermittant No Start Problem
Hi All,
I'm new here but I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I have an'07 Ranger with 2.3L engine. Three times now while driving, the check engine light has come on, the Tach, Speedo and Temp gauge quit working. Then after I shut the engine off, it won't restart. When I turn the key to on, the dash lights all come on and the security light flashes what appears to be in a random sequence. I can also hear the fuel pump powering up. When I turn the key to the start position there is nothing. No solenoid click, no attempt to crank. Then after a length of time (two days in the latest case) the engine starts just fine.
I've checked the battery and have a solid 12.5 volts. I've tapped on relays and solenoids and nothing seems to change anything.
The problem is this doesn't happen all the time and troubleshooting a problem that only exists sometimes isn't easy, I'll be glad of any help you all might provide.
