variation to the blinker mod

i was wondering if there was a way to mod the headlight so that the standard 3457 blinker bulb stays solid and the corner light is the only one that blinks? i know when doing the blinker mod they both alternate blinking but can you reverse the wiring or re-wire it so that only the corner blinks and the blinker stays solid at all times?

Im sure that it can be done but I wouldnt really recommend it. Bob would know more on this than I would but it would involve doing some re-wiring. I know that you would have to take the hot wire that goes to the blinker and run it to the corner light. Other than that I cant really say with out looking into it more.

I have tried to do it with no success. The only way that I know of that would work is to mod the corner lights to hold a dual filament bulb and socket, but good luck finding one small enough.

does anyone know if you can simply switch the wiring of the blinker and the corner light so that the corner blinks while the blinker just stays on?

better yet anyway you could put another set of head lights where the current blinkers are and work out aiming them after wiring.. get a better spread of light maybe...

It would be easy enough to rearrange the wires. You wouldn't have much of a turnsignal though unless you swapped out the corner bulb with something brighter.

Besides the brightness issue, this arrangement would be illegal and dangerous because the marker as turn signal will be much more difficult to see directly from the front and IMPOSSIBLE to see viewed from an angle off the opposite side front corner. I wouldn't do it.

yeah thanks for all the help guys.. i was just thinkin about swapping the wires and seeing what it would do but Bob, you bring up a very valid point. i don't know if it's really worth it. i may try it out and see how much visibility it provides but depending on that, we'll see how it goes. i'll keep you guys updated if i do get around to it.
