I generally get 80k miles or so out of a set of brakes. (we drive over 50k a year) Last month I put a set of hawk ceramic pads on the caddy. Did the proper bed-in proceedure and I must say that I'm very impressed. It's a great pad, no dust, and it stops better than the OEM pads from Cadillac. When the ranger goes.. this is what I'll be using for sure.

30-35k Running larger than stock tires. (265/75/16)

50k or so on rears. (mostly due to brake hardware failure)

Mostly city driving with a few spirited stops.

first time i changed the brakes on my truck, i used cheap-o's from Napa....they lasted about 10,000 miles with 33's and they blew dust like a vacuum cleaner in reverse.......then i went to the stock Motorcraft pads, no dust been running a mixture of 33's and 35's and i am pushing 45,000 miles on them....i think i got about another 10,000 miles in them last time i checked a couple weeks ago...

Most of the time I put the tires on before I drive anywhere, truck doesnt turn well on the rotors.

I'm sorry, bad joke.....I never owned a car/truck long enough to go through a set of pads that I've installed on it.

yes they do......IF your miles are mainly highway miles, then you probably still have almost new brakes.....
