Okay heres how it goes i hav ea 94' ranger 4-cyl i have replaced TPS, Mass Air Flow Sensor, coil packs. i have a check engine light that says that the throttle body is higher or low than the computers operation. i just would like a good answer to this if it the wires going to the throttle body than which wires do what please. so that i can check to see if there is a break and where do the wires start and end. if i cant fix this its going up for sell. cause i have spent so much money on this truck and the funny thing is that even with the light on the truck runs fine i notice htat every once and a while when i drive it seems to not have a little power than what it has.

3/4" x 3/4" piece of electrical tape over check engine light will remedy problem immediately.

i tihnk he wants to know what the wires from the throttle body do and where they lead to check for tears. If he doesnt fix it soon he selling it . . . ( i think )

 

Did you adjust the TPS voltage to .9v @ idle?

 

Can you post the code that you pulled? I can look it up at work and see if I can help you. Also can you describe the problem you are having?

 

Im sorry that my grammor sucks and for fullthrottle02 the codes are: 121 (closed throttle voltage higher or lowe than expected), 224 (spout curcit ground/coil 1, 2, 3, 4.
the 224 i dont understand because i hav ereplaced both coild and wires and plugs an still have that one but it is the 121 i cant figure out. Hope you can help FT2 thanks to all even the ones who would rather insult me for english instead of helping.

Have you tried clearing these codes to see if they come back? Disconnect your battery and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Reconnect and drive normal so it can re-learn. I bet the light doesn't come back on.

Did you just blindly replace all these expensive components hoping it would make the light turn off?

 

no these are the parts the auto shops have replaced on it .

 

Well the problem is you've replaced all these things that have nothing to do with the indicated problem. The MAF, plugs, and wires have nothing to do with the throttle position sensor or the spout circuits. Blindly replacing coil packs hoping the problem goes away also isn't productive.

The codes are indicating a ground fault on one or more of the spout circuits and an invalid reading on the TPS. You more than likely have damaged wires or a loose electrical connector or two somewhere.

 

i had to replace these things because they all went bad i did not replace them because of this problem i was just giving info on my truck and i know that some one has told me this before but what is the spout circuit and where would be a good place to start looking for the bad connection sorry.
