rev limiter fix for a new guy
Hi all I'm a new guy here and the Ranger I have is the second one for me. The first was a 2000 XLT but since it got rear ended and totaled I got a 2008 XLT Super Cab and I really like it but I noticed one thing it has that the 2000 didn't have was the limiter. This one coming back from L.A. on this side of the Grapevine I hit 90 and that was it and there was no more. Is there something I can do to fix this? I know 90 is way over the speed limit but I'm just curious. Maybe a computer jumper or something? Oh yes it's a 2.3L.

Yes, its a factory governor-you may also notice you have a factory rev limiter as well. A good custom tune will safely raise the rev limiter and governor to higher setting and still be safe for the motor-comes at a price though

that would be the govoner, i believe if you get a programmer you can erase the govoner speed.
