Clutch Problems!!!
My dad's 01 ranger v6 3.0 standard is having clutch problems. We have changed the slave cylinder and bled the line and still no clutch in the truck. So now how hard is it to change the clutch master clyinder? Oh yeah how much fluid is needed to bleed the whole system after new slave/master cylinders?
Thanks guys!!!!

The hydraulics on the ranger can be a nightmare. However changing the master cylinder should be much easier to change than the slave since it is more accessible.
You may need to gravity bleed the system for a while. I had a shop change the clutch/slave/master in my 98 ranger and it kept having problems. They kept bleeding it, and the problem would show up again a day later. They finally gravity bled it and it seemed to work, no problems after that.

I thought mine was fixed several times. Then I would go to shift gears later on and couldn't. lol
I got pretty good at rev-match shifting without the clutch though. The bad part was when I had to stop, shut it off, put it in first and startup in gear. Apparently I had a pretty strong starter though!

OP: what the manual calls for: foot off the pedal, open bleeder then close when you have a steady stream of brake fluid coming out. slowly push the pedal to the floor and back up about 5 times, then hold it to the floor, open bleeder then immediately close. it'll squirt, so whatch your eyes. Repete process a few times. On one occasion, I didn't get any pedal pressure until after hardcore pumping of the pedal after I repeted that process probably half dozen times.

I didn't bench bleed mine when I did it....and it's still goin' strong 2 years later. Ford tech books and manuals didn't call for bench bleeding, so I didn't do it.
