02 heater issues.

I have an 02 4x4 ranger. Short story its been s great little truck for 4 years. Recently had to replace heater core and climate control valve. Last week had to replace water pump. While i was at it changed the drive belt and thermostat. My question is, and i hope someone can help, i have absolutely not hot or even warm air coming through the vents. I double checked the CCV and thermostat. They are fine. The CCV is vacumm operated. Any insight on what i need to do to fix this? I greatly appreciate any help.

hello.

I may of jumped the gun asking a question before i give an introduction. I have had 3 rangers over the years. Really enjoyed them since day 1. Im glad to find a place to read and swap ideas on these vehicals. As a southern IN resident. My truck sees all the on and off road adventures i can muster. It gets me to work, fishing hunting and camping. Even trips to Ohio the visit my daughter. Thanks for this forum. Looking forward to reading and sharing ideas via post.

After engine is warmed up set heater temp for HOT and pop the hood, feel both heater hoses, if both are hot then your problem is the Blend Door inside the cab.
If neither or only one heater hose is hot, then either the new core is blocked or the control valve isn't working.
Remember, "new" no longer means "it works", "new" now means "never tested"

Google: 2002 Ranger Blend Door
It is a common issue.
2002 and up are similar, and for pretty much any Ford truck

You may have air in your cooling system. Lift your front end so that the heater core under the dash is lowered relative to the radiator and hoses. Put a radiator no-spill funnel in your radiator filler neck and fill 1/2 with distilled water or coolant. Run your engine at 1500rpm for a minute. Check fluid level and for bubbles at funnel. Repeat, as necessary.
If you have access to a compressor, the best way to get air out of the system is to use a Vacuum Coolant Refill Kit. I lived with a no-heat problem due to air in the ssystem. It solved the problem 1st try.
Good luck.
