Removing back seats

I'm trying to remove the back seats of my xtra cab '02 ranger. I got all the bolts out except one big one and its like a factory removal only type of bolt because its round so no socket will loosen it and it has a different star patern on top. I tryed using a wrench a lil but it just slips. Maybe if I cuss at it like like no other while using the wrench on it, it might come out. But was wondering if there was an easier way. I dont wanna take a torch to my interior at all.

Yea there is an easyer way, its called the right tool.

That is a Torx bit. T-50 to be exact. Go sears or even autozone and by a T-50 Torx. You'll be happy you did.

just pick up an entire set at autozone, if you own a ford, you'll need all of em sooner or later.

^^^lol sure enough, lately ive just been using the flat head screw driver trick. i didnt want to mess up the rubber on the seat bolts and last time i tried using a flat head on a torx bolt i ended up having to destroy the bolt to get it out.

Off Topic Somewhat! I just had a killer idea for a new how-to, only it's not a how to...it's more of just an FYI...

We need to get everyone's input that has specifics and put together a Torx-bit/size/location chart....

You know, a chart that shows what size to use on what torx bolts on our trucks...It would take time but it could very well save someone some time down the road....just a thought

It never hurts to have the manual if you are going to be workin gon your truck yourself. Manuals are cheap like $15

If you cant afford $15 you cant afford to mod your truck.

yes but its always nice to have the info. in more than one place.. imagine how small the internet would be if we took that approach to everything and didnt bother to post information on anything, cause it's already in a manual.
