Air bag light

So the miss and me were out for a cruise this afternoon in town, we were just putting along and all of the sudden the air bag light starts flickering. She was siting right close to the dash so I told her to move the seat right back, just in case it went off. ( thank god it never did) Anyway after a few kilometers it just stayed on. I got home turned the truck off and told her I would be in the house in a few min. I turned the truck off and then started it again. Sure as **** after a few sec the air bag light started flickering and then after about 2-3 min it just stayed on.

Now I have the air bag switch off and it is stuffed under the dash to make room for my cb radio. What is causeing it to flicker and stay on.

Check the plugs underneath the seats. Mine were jiggled loose and it did the same thing that you're talking about. Just unplug them and plug em back in and see if that'll fix it.

count how many times it flashes. should flash a 2 digit series of numbers. that will pinpoint the problem. also include your year as the codes sometimes vary year to year.

If the light comes on in the dash, I believe the system wont let the bags go off so you don't have to worry about it hitting her in the face. I've also heard is that plug under the seats alot of times.

Like Troy said, count the code for us.

correct. if the light is on, the system is disabled. could be the connectors under the seat, could be the PAD bulb burned out, or unhooked. he said he has the PAD switch pushed under the dash. could be making intermittent connections.

Check the light bulb on your air bag switch. Turn it off and see if it lights up. I usually drive by myself with the air bag off. My light burned out and set the light in the cluster on. I replaced my switch and have not had any problems since.
