interior paint

I'm picking up the paint and painting my interior tomorow. I was gonna get Krylon in Red and a clear coat? that sound right? I'm sanding it down first then painting it all, now I'm doing the door bezels, going to attempt the radio bezel, and saw some guys had the "vent"s up on the top of dash, on both driver side and passenger side, not the actual air vents, but the slots ontop, do those just pop out and pop back in> Do i need a primer or anything?

I believe the Krylon Fusion does not require primer, but I'd do it anyways, just because I want a smooth surface. Remember to sand with very rough sandpaper, then work your way up to the higher and higher grit. And spray light coats, let it dry, then spray again.

Good luck.

I used Krylon Fusion as well but didnt use a primer. Its a smooth finish, but would probably be better with a primer like rong5 said. MAke sure you get the rubber coating off the radio bezel....I just used a scotch bite pad so i didnt dig too deep into the plastic. This is how mine turned out without primer.

It turned out pretty good....If I had to do it again. I'd use a primer.

Yea I'm really happy with the Krylon Fusion. There's someone on here who did theirs with something different that had a metal flake in it. It looked pretty sweet.

What do you guys think, should I paint the black plastic and pouch around the radio mount to match the rest of the bezel or just leave it be?
