I'm 6'5'. I drive with my knees at @ 4 and 8 on the steering wheel, seat all the way back and straight up. Don't really have a prob. with head room, just the 'headrest'.

But I drive a 2000 with gen 3 buckets, so that might play a little into it.

6'3" and I am all leg. I sit about 1" from the headliner in my '10, my '02 was a few inches lower. The nice part about the '10 is the turn signal stalk is now curved up. The stalk on my 02 came straight out and I would constantly turn the right turn signal on every time I came off the clutch.

I wanna see the let down on his face when she takes the ladder out to change a light or clean the gutters.

As you can see, the seat track is a pretty complex device, not easy to modify without serious shop skills and tools. Now given a decent torch and welder, I'm sure someone could fab up a replacement...however the typical "garage mechanic" is out of luck. Your best bet is to find some Explorer seats. I went from 60/40 split bench Ranger seats to Explorer Bucket seats and dropped a good inch. Same generation of trucks.

Here is a good picture from my 2000 Ranger seat tracks from when I swapped to the Explorer seats.

Throw in an old microwave, a leaky grease gun, some miracle grow, and a pair of tin snips and anything is possible!

anyone know if just putting the seat brackets from expo seats, on our seats would make a difference? or is the lowering in the seat it's self and/or brackets aren't interchangeable...

Did you ever find a solution?
I am having the same problem with hitting my head. I have the original split bench in a 07 supercab. Thinking about the explorer seats or any seat that will lower it but I hate to make the purchase until I know for sure that it will work. I need to get about 2" more head room.
