not only could it pull it, it did so at 75 mph with the air conditioning on for a 1200 mile road trip

 

For a good 14ft jon boat and trailer expect the range to be from about 800-1300. That's what I found from about 6 mo of looking on craigslist before getting mine. Truck will tow it fine. In your price range I'd consider getting a bass tracker or 10ft Jon you can put in the bed of the truck, put a nice 30lb thrust trolling motor on it and you'll scooting around pretty nice.

 

 

My boat weight 8k with empty tanks and my truck pulls it decently...trailers brakes of course...I have years of experience with towing and trailers...But the ranger will tow quite a bit.

 

not a problem I barely even notice this boat is there..

 

That has got to be the funniest damn thing I have ever seen...!!!

 

As far as the ranger towing..I tow my 25ft with twin 150hp's... It weighs about 8k with emtpy tanks. The ranger is fine as long as the trailer brakes work, and mpg is terrible.
