As far as auto acid batteries go, they recharge themself to an extent. If you start to drain your battery trying to start your car, you could let it sit for a couple minutes, start cranking again and it would be alot better. depending on how bad your battery is. A healthy battery will do good and recharge itself a good bit but a dead battery is just that, dead.

Some Trailer brake modules have a bright led on them that are on ALL the time, (at least our old one did) In the manual for the unit, the time for it take a significant effect on the battery was 3 months time.

mine often has issues sitting over night, she likes to take off... come back when ever she feels like... i don't really mind, she's usually back before i need to go to work... only way i really know is that the gas tank is almost always way lower than it was when i parked it... like this morning, it was on empty and the light was on!
3 months... so with 2 led's, 1.5 months... if you are letting your truck sit that long, you should disconnect the battery ANYWAY,
hey... isn't that about the same as i said it would last? maybe that was the other thread...

there was a parts website that i was using for my bike, that provided an exploded view of any part for any vehicle (i think cars and trucks were included, other wise it might have just been motorcycle, atv and snowmobile) does this sound familiar?
anyone know any sites that will give anything like this?

I think you have a natural tallent for electronics and your imagination seems to be vast, so please forgive me if I sound rude but whats the point of it? You should take you knowledge and put one or more of those lights in your mirror and wire it up to the signal stat to make it blink like the high dollar cars/trucks have. Again, not a hater, just wondering why!

the point of it is to show if your door is locked, or unlocked, this has nothing to do with an alarm, either factory, or aftermarket... if someone were to have an alarm in, which was armed, and then someone were to unlock the door with a key, the door would show unlocked, while the alarm would show armed... does this make sense?
as for the mirror lights... i think they look like crap... my roommate has a bmw x5 and i HATE that red light on the bottom of his mirror, looks so gay! it honestly looks like a 10 year old designed it... just, unprofessional...

Update: After I installed them I left the light and light holder un-glued that way if I had any issues I could easily pull it apart and fix it.
But I decided not to glue them in at all, Once you do that, pulling off the door panel would be a huge pain, since all the wires are connected at the switch in the door skin.
You can push the light in enough that it will just sit there, I haven't had it move and its worked great.

i think my 2 tone paint would draw more attention than the lights...

justin's got it (thank god) if he didn't know, something would be wrong, he is the only one who has bought a set... i have all the parts needed for additional sets to be sold, there was a price drop also, posted in the classified adds, i believe there is a link somewhere in this thread to them... all items needed, inc shipping and postage i think it was $30 for the first 5 sets? if i'm wrong, this is the new offer...
you have 4 options for "colour" and each colour can be used in either of the 2 positions (locked or unlocked) your choices are red, green, blue or clear (off)
so if you don't want anything showing when it's locked, so it's off when you leave it for the night, you can do that, but show red, to warn you that it's unlocked, you can do that, if you wanted it to be off when it is unlocked and you are driving ( so it's not a distraction) and red, to 'warn' potential thiefs, that it's locked, you can do that...
