i would have to concede the cummins as superior all around...even though i own a serious psd....when i say serious i mean long lived basically stock unit that is bulletproof...unreal this vehicle proved out to be.

not sure what you mean on the trans.

older e40d dont need no rear end vss and your stock dash and speedo will all work fine.

i think you would hate the engine with a c6.

it needs the e4. or a handshaker.

I've had nothing but issues with an e4. The c6 is a comprimise on the fact I don't want to be bothered with a 5 speed swap (bronco is an auto) and I don't like 5 speeds all that much. I have 3 trucks with 5 speeds. Two of which are powerstrokes. I don't like how rock box they are to shift. The c6 will be fine with my highway gears. I don't mind not having OD or torque converter lock up

Ok I have since gotten some more info together and the more and more I read about this the more I realize no one has done this my way before. I dont quite get how I am the first but hey it will be cool. By that I mean first off a PSD bronco of my era, There are a few trucks but not many at that. Out of all the trucks that I have seen actually completed the rest either have the PSD gauges worked into the 70s dash or the entire PSD dash worked into the 70s truck. I seem to be the only one wanting to use the 70s gauges.

All that being said I am taking a small step back from this and ironing out a solid "This is how I am doing things" plan so that when the time to chop and cut comes there is no second guessing on how I am doing things

Since the server crashed I probably lost the post saying I scored 2 full replacement bedsides and a soft top for 300 bucks. I thought it to be a deal I shouldn't pass up even if I do get a new body they are good to have. Also if all goes right I should be picking up a junk 7.3 block this weekend that I will use for mock up of motor mounts and what not

Got my mock up block all stripped down, Turns out I somewhat struck gold with it being only 75 bucks. Saves me from having to deal with a full on motor. But it even had good injectors and a good turbo on it. Kinda thinking I may build it up VS just scrapping it when I am done

started as this (it did have valve covers on it when I bought it)

P.S. dont put 1200 pound motors in a 3.0 auto ranger. it gets pissy about going up hills lol

Well build plan changed a hair yesterday. I wasnt going to bother putting any kind of performance stuff on this bronco due to weight and torque being able to destroy the axles. Plus that kinda wheel base with any kind of power is dangerous and likely to get out of control. But a friend of mine found a tuner for next to nothing. And Ive got a credit built up with Rosewood Diesel due to some back channels. So looks like this will be getting Chipped, stage 1 injectors, and ideally a modded 17 hpop (most of you guys have no idea what that means). Plus I got an old 6.0 fuel pump sitting around I may use to make an Electric fuel system out of. If my math is right I should be right around 325rwhp and 740ft/lbs tq in this rig

Decided that sitting around posting crap on forums wasnt getting me far so

She fired right up. After sitting for 2 months. Sat on high idle and purred. Its almost a shame to yank the motor out of it

There it is ready to start getting realtime measurements and really get down to cutting making this work

I got a yard full of stuff for cheap you may wanna know about. Particularly the 4.2 5 speed you will be in need of (pretty sure there is one there)

Nope, just some 2.5 inch lift springs up front to compensate for the weight. I like how it sits on 33s and whatnot. Plus makes it even less suspicious
