Icon8 EBAY SELLER: Primedparts

So I thought I'd try my hand at getting a 4x4/Edge bumper just in case I wasn't crazy about the Roush front bumper on the xlt with it being lifted. So I found a decent deal for a chrome bumper on ebay. He wanted $99.00 with free shipping...which I think he's an idiot for that cuz it's probably gonna cost a good penny to ship that thing. So this all went down yesterday...

1. Found the item, looked at the pics in the listing
2. Asked for bigger pics...said the ebay ones were all he had.
3. Went back and "enlarged" them and I could actually see a bit better, okay sized pics.
4. Told him I'd give him 75 shipped. He countered with 79. Deal, right?
no....
5. I asked how he wanted me to buy it, buy it now? He replied, no, I'll send you an invoice. Said he didn't want me to do "buy it now" and asked for my paypal name. weird.
6. I gave him my paypal name. He didn't send me an invoice
7. I then emailed him several times throuthout the day yesterday with no response until today to one of my first questions and even that was about the whole invoice deal...
8. Still didn't sent me an invoice, so I'm thinking... he's backing out on the deal, who knows.
9. I email him thru ebay and then found another email for him, sent one there. He responds almost immediately saying he can't change the price, ebay won't let him. So I tell him, "of course not, I haven't bought it yet. I have to buy it, then wait, then you change my invoice, send it, I pay, you ship. done deal."
10. Still no response, so I email him, okay...do you want me to try buy it now?
11. responds an hour later, "sure if you want to try, that's fine."
12. So I do buy it now, email him, ask him if it says anything and if he can change it, etc.
13. I'm waiting and then I get a call from my neighbor and I'm going over there and I don't want to make primedparts wait for my payment, cuz...I always pay ASAP with my ebay stuff. So I sent him an email and told him I was paying now, don't want to make you wait, be back later, just do a partial refund to make it 79.00.
14. I just got back around 6 and he answered all my recent emails, QUOTE: "if you buy it on ebay it will be the full price i will not be refunding you any fifferent since you wanna buy it now it will be the full price thanks" and "no sorry i will not be doing you any partial refund sorry" wtf?!
15. So now I'm getting kind of pissed. I email him back, "79.00 is the deal. you agreed. That or upgrade the shipping time and I want insurance at your cost."
16. He's replied to me, quote, "yes but out of ebay thanks"

I don't understand this guy, I've NEVER had this problem with someone. I don't recommend this guy to anyone and he hasn't even shipped my friggin bumper yet. He's got some decent deals for good used parts...but If I had known this would happen I'd be waiting for the next guy in line with a bumper.

So I just checked his feedback, he currently has 1 negative and 3 neutrals. I thought there'd be many more. I think only one of the neutrals is really legit. the negative was BS and even got fixed. But Primedparts never left ANY feedback for any of those 4 transactions. How rediculous is that... I almost emailed him just now and told him to give me a full refund, but I think I might see how this plays out...

I'm super pissed with this guy though. Absolutely rediculous.

Yeah, exactly, it could be worse. And as far as the 20 bucks goes, I'm not ultra worried about it. I'm not going to fight him on the 20 bucks NOW, becuase now that I've paid him...it's no longer 20...it's 100! ya know?

I just want to put it out there my frustration with him. Don't agree to something and then stiff your buyer. He's got a bunch of ranger stuff, don't know if anyone here is looking at his listings, just be leery of making offers.

Yeah, I know that feeling now. I'm not going to get away from ebay just cuz of this one deal tho...the biggest thing is watching out for scams on ebay, cl, and others...those can really hurt ya bad!

did he have a best offer button? if so, then it would be whatever was offered, or counter'd.

no, I emailed him and asked for better pics and then offered him the 75. Then he pretty much immediately offered back 79. That was totally his doing. I wish he did have up a "best offer" but even then most of the people that I see with those don't really accept much less than what they have it listed for. Don't get me wrong, this bumper looks to be in very good shape. 100 bucks for the bumper is not bad at all! I just wanted to see if he'd go down some. doesn't hurt to ask. And he did...but now he's stiffing me. I would have rather him told me no, 99 is my best price, sorry man...than to be doing this crap.

edit>> here's the ebay listing number for the bumper, if anyone is curious and/or nosy? emphasis on OR haha: 280458415490

I've gotten several things for considerably cheaper by using the best offer. I don't think you did bad on your purchase, but you would have been able to hold him to the price if he had the best offer.

honestly, I do this ALL the time and this is literally the first time I've had a problem! I always ask nicely, and almost always I get someone entertaining offers. which is cool. The only time I've had someone refuse an offer, and I told him I understood/ totally cool, no prob, whatever, was a guy last week for a brand new chrome complete rear bumper assembly. I emailed him one offer, got denied, and went up, but didn't go up after that and he didn't entertain anything, he just simply kept it at, "sorry, best price is listed." And everytime I've had someone say they'd sell me something for a cheaper than listed price, I've done buy it now and waited til I got the invoice and they've sent me the exact bill for what we agreed and have had amazing experiences with the folks I've done business with. It's the principle of the matter, good solid business. And that doesn't really even show up in my ebay cuz most of my offers are made through CL. CL is just awesome! haha

So after about 10 emails back and forth today, I got a full refund. I'm still a bit unnerved with the whole situation but all is well. and I will NEVER do business with that guy again. He says he doesn't offer insurance no matter what, which is absurd. He also doesn't stick to a fair deal that he offered out of his own will and agreed with, and takes forever to answer any emails and even then is vague. Not the kind of seller I want to do business with.
