on the dome (led) ;)

Dome light that is

I just got my leds in from superbrightleds.com to convert mine from incandescent to LED. I went with the replacement bulb route since I didn't really feel like taking my dome light apart and hacking it up. I have the map light version so I would have been hard to go the LED array route anyways.

For the maps I used 2xWLED-WHP9-T 194 type plugins

Then for the center light i used a 4210-xWHP12 festoon type plugin.

The LEDS:

After:

It doesn't seem to be much brighter(but of course haven't seen it at night yet). At least it accomplishes not having to worry about killing my battery if I leave my doors open for a long period of time which is one of the reasons for the conversion.

My dome goes off after 30 min... so it wont kill the battery anyway.

yeah i think mine will too. I should have said it wont have a very large pull on the battery anymore when the door is open with the truck off.

Now - I did swap to LED's in mine - but it was for the main focus of having it be just bright enough for my passenger to read a book/map, and not near bright enough to bug me while Im driving - Incandescants were just a tad too bright to be on if your driving.. but I went with soem wedge style LED's with a main one pointing forward and like 3 or 4 to the sides.. alot smaller than stock - the light output is jsut right though!

ain't it rad? It was probably the best bang for your buck mod I've done.
I got the 921x12's for my dome:

$5.95 for each one and they are plenty bright. I don't have the center light tho
