2.5 timing marks will not align

no matter how hard i try all 3 marks will not align according to the directions. I can get the crank at TDC the Aux Diamond to Diamond ,but the cam will not go triangle to triangle. If I line it up the crank is 6-10 degrees before tdc. I'm putting the belt on counter clockwise and keeping a check on the spring tensionor. I'm wondering if the camshaft sprocket turned while we were trying to break the crank bolt loose. Like a dummy i tried to hold on to the motor at the CAMSHAFT bolt while my bud turned on the crankbolt. I know the bolt in the cam moved but could it have moved the sprocket on the camshaft. It seems to be about a half tooth away from being able to align properly.

check the cam sprocket keyway, if not maybe try a new belt or try harder....lol...sometimes it takes alot of concentration and time

We did Brians timing belt a month or so ago and we had a problem getting it lined up also. We just put it on as close as possible and it runs fine. It was like a half a tooth off.
