2.5 intake manifold on a 94 2.3

well, the engines are almost the same, they are both Lima 4-bangers. the upper and lower intake manifold will bolt up to the engine, however you will need to mount the ignition module somewhere with a heat sink and the intake manifold is not whats restricting the engine at all. the intake manifold on your 94 2.3 is perfectly fine, what is restrictive is the head... if you want to get more from this engine at all you will need to have the head ported and portmatched. the intake manifold is perfectly fine, what gives the 2.5 more power is the larger displacement of it. putting on the manifold from the 2.5 would be a lot of small headaches for no gain in performance.

I am talkiing about a 94 2.3l lima, even though the one I have in it now came out of a 93. I like the mileage of the 4 banger, really have kind of grown attached to the truck, and either way I am stuck with it for probaly another 2 years.
I am not really into the bolt on stuff as from what I read they don't really seem too worth it.
Eventually I would will probaly buy something newer and keep this as a toy/project truck, but right now it is my dd. I am trying to at least get it where it has a little better muscle. Right now I can do the speed limit on the highway, but soon as the wind blows against me it takes it's toll, specially with the lund visor on the front of it.
Even in town though we have a few hills that it don't really care for and crawl up to speed getting up them.
Right now it has 4:10 gears, but eventually I am thinking 5:13's if I can find them reasonable for a 7.5 and also for the front end (I think would be dana 28).
Someday, I am thinking of an engine swap but am torn between the 4.0 and a 2.3 turbo. Maybe you guys can give me pros and cons of each and maybe tell me how much of a gain I would notice with the 2.3t, I have driven an explorer with the 4.0 so I know what that can do.

Ok lets clear up some bad info in here.
The 2.3 and 2.5 are the same *Lima* engine. There are differences however that will not let you accomplish what you would like, without either swapping a complete 2.5, or doing a head swap.
First off, the 2.5 and 2.3 changed external castings ever so slightly. Therefore accessory brackets and intakes won't swap from one another. The intakes won't swap because the bolt hole castings from the 2.3 to 2.5 changed on the head.
Now what you could do is swap on the 2.5 head and intakes, though you might run into interference problems with the accessory brackets (not entirely sure though).
Another note though. In reality the 2.5 intakes have smaller runners than the earlier dual plug headed intakes. But these are not restrictions in N/A form for these engines. The smaller runners help keep the velocity of the air flow up, which actually helps the efficiency of the DP engines. The Intakes are not where you need to be looking to gain any power in N/A form.
Boring an engine is not a power gaining modification. Boring engines is typically done to fix cylinder wear. You increase power by increasing the stroke. Which is what the 2.5 does. Soooooo, swap the 2.5 in, though this will come with the price of having to rewire possibly depending on your install appraoch. There are a million different ways you can do this, so I'm not even going to attempt to lay them all on the table right now.
If you want to go 2.3T, you'll experience about a 100% increase in power... I **** you not. These engines, when force inducted, are very easy to make power with. Again though, there are a million different approaches to turboing your 2.3, and I will not go into them as you can go to RPS and *search* in the 2.3T section about how to go about it.
