add a leaf-short or long?

I'm looking to pick up a Pro Comp add-a-leaf kit for my '02 FX4 but I'm not sure if I should get the short or long spring. I looked through the older threads but didn't see anything regarding length. I appreciate your advice.

I used the short Procomp AAL when I lifted my truck. Pretty sure it was a #13120.

I used a short one, and it was really stiff. It road terrible, but was great for carrying loads.
