Need some advice...

If this has already been posted before (which I'm sure it has) then I apologize. Just wanting an answer and don't have the patience to look right this moment.

Lately I've been debating on buying 35" tires my next go around. I know there's some people on here who've done this. I'm just wondering, what needs to be done? Is re-gearing necessary? I'm sure it would definitely be beneficial.

At the moment, I'm running stock 4:10 gears and 33" tires. It seems to handle those pretty well. I'm just wondering, how much could 2 more inches and more air pressure mess with the gears and transmission?

Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i have 35s and my vehicle is a bit slower. I'd still beat a 3.0 in a race and sometimes my truck is fast, but I really miss how damn fast my ranger used to be. 35s are a lot cooler than 33s though haha.

So, you're saying I should be able to just throw 35's on there and I should be alright? Do you have any pics?

Well I have a 3 inch body lift(and cranked tbars, i dont know if they're any lift really) but let me look around..

Alright, well the more I look at that, the more it makes me want to buy 35's when the 33's wear out.

Just to clarify, you've got what.. 4:10 gears & 4.0L as well right? And you haven't re-geared or anything?

yuppers i have a 2004 FX4 and I wish I had a superlift. Oh they *should* rub, i'd think. But since I have a body lift I bet its a lot diff(as in you shouldnt rub)

i think I'm going to do it too... 35's look so much more badass than 33's... if you say they don't rub then I'm goin for it

35's will rub with just a superlift or just a bodylift if you use your truck offroad at all. I ran 35's with a Superlift and a 1" bodylift and they rubbed the bedsides with anything but street driving.

yah i rub a lot. I stopped caring but I would love more lift.

That tire actually fills the whole fender. That's awesome. And finally, others who put the white letters to the outside. I'm not alone!

I'm going to be trimming my fenders anyways. The 33's always end up rubbing and tearing the front of the fender flare off. I think, I've decided I am going to re-gear though. I drive a lot more on the road than I do off, so I don't feel like burning more gas. My buddy says he can get me a pretty good deal on some new gears.. so, why not?

I'm debating on doing a little body lift. I'm not sure if I want the full 3" body lift or something a little less. Is there some sort of torsion bar relocation kit out there? Or would you have to switch to coil springs or something else? I hate those things, they snag everything off-road.

if you want 35's just because they look badass dont do it because they weigh more and youll burn more gas. trust me any normal person on the road isnt gonna notice ANY difference between 33's and 35's UNLESS they were parked RIGHT NEXT to each other. in which case they still wouldnt care because their normal and have their own **** to do
