I have a chance to buy a set of Mickey Thompson ATZ's tomorrow that are 305/70/16. I know 285's will fit under my truck just fine, but I am not sure with the 305's being an inch wider.

I have a 1"BL, cranked Tbars, and 16" wheels with 4.25 backspacing. Will I be ok with them fitting, or is the inch wider of the 305's going to rub with my current "lifted" setup?

 

That's like a 33/12r16. Some guys run 33/12.5r15s with no lift. I would say they would rub at full lock and flex. Maybe go up to a 3 inch bl.

 

Dang it ok. It's tempting though cause the tires are only $125 and have more than half of tread life left lol.

 

That's alot of tire for 7" rims.


BL it and actually clear them. And by BL, I mean 3". I had a hell of a time with 32x11.50's on 15x8's beating the snot of the tires when I actually wheeled the truck when I had a 1" BL and cranked bars.

 

Oh yeah forgot to put that in my specs. My wheels are 8" wide.

Ok I understand. Sounds like I better do some lifting first.
