95 2.3L 5 spd Spark Plug Gap
Been 0.044 since 1983 Ranger 2.3l, as far as I have ever seen, many emissions labels on Rangers were misprinted as far as spark plug gap so that could have been something you saw
You can cross reference either of these plugs to use
AWSR-32PP (1993 - 1995)
AWSR-32F (1996 - 1997)
I would use regular copper or Double Platinum, don't use single platinum, its a waste of money as 4 of the 8 spark plugs will wear out same as regular copper, its a Waste Spark system so 4 of the spark plugs fire in reverse, tip to center
Spark plug gaps are also "drivers choice"
If you spend alot of time idling or driving slowly you may want to use 0.046
If you spend most of the time at highway speeds then 0.042 would be best
Larger gaps are better for cold starts and lower RPMs
Smaller gaps are better for higher RPMs, more recovery time for the coil
Ford picks the one in the middle 0.044

I went to auto zone and grabbed the Bosch double iridium, the guy behind the desk had just looked it up and said those fit, but I noticed when I left they are pre gapped at .052 and says you shouldn’t mess with their gap. Can I recap these?
Yes, you can regap them to suit your engine.
Regapping can break the "coating" which can shorten the extended life the coating gives them, but its unlikely to happen, avoiding hitting them really hard with a hammer when regapping, lol
