How can the plug wires be swapped so both plugs fire together? There is a Youtube video on this subject but the diagram shown while he speaks does not agree with his instructions. Is the coil pack on the driver side the one to modify? That pack powers the plugs on the intake side. Which wires are swapped?

 

Popular Myth for dual spark plug engines

Both spark plugs in one cylinder DO fire at the same time now, wouldn't be much point in doing dual spark plugs if they didn't, lol

Dual spark causes faster combustion with better power, just hard to find the room in the head for dual plugs on all engines, Dodge Hemi V8 uses dual spark plugs

Anyway, you don't need to change anything, there would be no benefit

You have an engine that was designed in the early 1970's and first used in a 1974 Ford Pinto, so very old design
Fuel injection, dual spark plugs and roller rockers helped, but its still a heavy cast iron engine designed in early 1970's, so power-wise it just can't compete with the aluminum DOHC 4-valve 4cyl engines, like the 2.3l Duratec used in 2002 - 2011 Ranger
2019 Ranger uses the 2.3l DOHC Duratec with a turbo charger, its called 2.3l Ecoboost
