96 2.3L Ranger crank but no start after overheating
hello im a newbie to the forum. i have a 96 ranger with 2.3l engine,5 speed manuel. just bought the truck. but as i was driveing the other day it started getting hot according to the gauge but i was almost at my destination so i kept getting it. by time i was ther it was past the H mark. so i turned it off an as i came back bout 2 hrs later i tried to start it and it cranks but no start, i have spark , and i have fuel, but still no start. my question is would ther be a sensor that may have got harmed due to the heat that would cause my issue. i did install a new cps hopeing it was that but no luck, and i checked timeing and all marks are aligned an time is in. so if ther is any helpful advice ide appreciate it.
update for all who may run across my problem. i checked compression and 1st cylinder was only 30psi, wow. checked #2 and it was 130psi, si i didn't go any further, poped off valve cover and no surprise ther was milk. so we have a blown head gasket here. thats all folks.
